Why don't my write values show up in a read?

My HI 1746WS module is in a remote rack. When I write a value to the M0 file I use the command word with bits 14 & 15 set high (11).  However, the values being read back are not the values I wrote in.  Why is this?
I notice that if I do a WRITENONVALATILE command, then read the values, they are what I sent before.

You are doing the write of the new parameters correctly.  However, these values will not be used until you do an executable command like write to non volatile memory.  Once an executable command has been run, then it will use the new values.  Until a command is run, any read of these values will still display the old values.
