How do I zero my weight controller over RIO from ControlLogix?

Question

I have a ControlLogix 5550 PLC and a HI 2151/20WC, HI 2151/30WC and a HI 2110WI Series Weight Controller connected to it via Remote I/O. I can get the weight back by moving a zero in the first and second word of the discrete output table. Now I need to zero out the unit before getting the weight. Can you tell me what bit to set in the second output word to zero the scale?

Answer

You cannot zero the scale over the discrete I/O tables. A block transfer 51 (decimal) is needed to zero the scale. This applies to the HI 2151/20WC, HI 2151/30WC and the HI 2110WI.
