Can the HI 1756WS be installed in the local or remote rack?

Question

Must the HI 1756WS module be in the local rack (with the CPU) or can it be in a remote rack with communication via ControlNet?

Answer

The HI 1756WS or the HI 1756-2WS does not need to be installed in the local rack as it is treated as a normal device. You can use the HI 1756 WS and HI 1756-2 WS in a remote chassis communicating via ControlNet. This is not true for all Hardy PLC modules.
