HI6850-CMFC Continuous Material Feed Controller
Purpose-built for gravimetric feeding applications, the HI6850-CMFC delivers precise continuous and batch rate control. Whether retrofitting outdated volumetric feeders or replacing legacy controllers like the HI4060, the HI6850-CMFC serves as a powerful building block for both stand-alone and multi-feeder systems.
WHAT'S NEW WITH THE HI6850-CMFC
Building on the legacy HI4060, the HI6850-CMFC brings a dual-core processor for faster performance, improved vibration immunity for greater reliability, dual Ethernet ports for enhanced connectivity, simplified instrument mapping for setup and diagnostics, and a modern color touchscreen display.
AUTOMATIC WEIGHT AND RATE CALIBRATION
A five-point auto rate calibration allows the HI6850-CMFC to self-calibrate to the specific feed characteristics of the feeder and material being fed — delivering higher feed accuracy across a broader range of feed rates.
MULTIPLE CONFIGURATION STORAGE
Store setup parameters and calibrations across hundreds of dedicated, on-board memory locations for fast retrieval and configuration changes. Configurations are also automatically saved to a Secure Digital Memory Module (SMM-SD) card, making it easy to transfer data between instruments or review it directly on a PC.
EASE OF SET-UP
Access process weight and rate parameters directly from the front panel keys and LCD display, or remotely through the HI6850-CMFC's embedded web server. The controller actively monitors your process, issuing display prompts and alarm relay outputs for tolerance errors and other faults — with user-defined alarm and shutdown thresholds, plus three assignable security levels per function.
MODULARITY AND EASE OF INSTALLATION
Configure the HI6850-CMFC to fit the application:
- With or without display
- EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP/IP
- Panel, DIN-rail, remote, or wall mount
- AC or DC power
The rate controller housing mounts to the rear of the panel or remotely — up to 100 feet away — to a DIN rail.
CORE TECHNOLOGIES
WAVERSAVER® filters out vibration and mechanical noise from feeders and the surrounding plant environment. C2® electronic calibration enables fast, accurate calibration without the time and expense of traditional methods. Paired with an IT Junction Box, INTEGRATED TECHNICIAN® (IT) lets you troubleshoot and diagnose the weighing system from the instrument's front panel or a web browser — reading individual load sensor voltages and weights, making comparisons, and isolating components at the sensor level.

The Hardy Process Toolbox is a set of productivity tools that support industrial weighing functions. Each tool saves time, increases accuracy, improves efficiency, or reduces risk in process weighing applications, including WAVERSAVER® to eliminate vibration, C2® electronic calibration, and Integrated Technician® to name just a few.
The HI 4050 features the following Toolbox technologies:
C2® (or eCAL) Electronic Calibration
The Hardy C2® (or eCAL as it is known in China) core feature provides quick and easy electronic calibration of a weighing system without the need for heavy test weights.
INTEGRATED TECHNICIAN® Operator Diagnostics
Hardy's INTEGRATED TECHNICIAN (IT) core feature helps you troubleshoot your weighing system and diagnose problems from the front of the instrument or via the PLC. These tests display system weights, voltages, and pass/fail displays to help isolate a problem to the instrument, cabling, or sensors, helping to reduce maintenance costs.
WAVERSAVER® vibration eliminator
Hardy's WAVERSAVER core technology eliminates the effects that surrounding vibration has on the scale weight signal, providing only true data for fast, accurate weight reading.
WAVERSAVER+
A patent pending dynamic algorithm that improves the stability of static weight readings by 3X.
Embedded Web Server
Access your instrument from any computer browser, easing setup and making diagnostics fast and easy. Use the Embedded Web Server to set up all parameters from anywhere on the Ethernet network.
Secure Memory Module Stores Configuration Data
Hardy's Secure Memory Module (SMM) uses a standard MicroSD card to automatically back up critical weighing system data, allowing you to transfer it to another like controller in a few minutes. You can also use the card to easily back up your controller data onto a PC.
