Weighing is used for many processes in  the manufacturing of CHOCOLATE:

  • In the grading and bagging where the cocoa beans bagged in sacks weighing from 130 to 200 pounds (59.02-90.8 kilograms).
  • To precisely add potassium carbonate, sugar or other sweeteners by weight to make COCOA POWDER
  • To remix press cake with some of the removed cocoa butter to make CHOCOLATE CANDY
  • In the process of CONCHING where it is critical to add a specific weight of material, over a specific time and rate for quality and compliance. Ingredient additions include chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, sugar, and vanilla, powdered whole milk or whole liquid milk depending on which chocolate is being made
  • In the pouring and packaging, where it is essential to accurately fill molds, packets, bags etc by weight and check weigh finished product for compliance.
  • To sell the HULLS by weight as mulch, fertilizer or commercial boiler fuel.
